Independent Practice

Oldmark Studio

My own design & development practice, running alongside my product design work. As the sole designer and developer, I take on end-to-end web and product projects for early-stage founders — from brand identity through to a shipped, maintainable product.

Samuel Oldmark, founder of Oldmark Studio.

My role

  • Sole designer and developer on every engagement — brand identity, UX/UI, frontend build, and post-launch iteration.
  • Run the full process solo: client conversations, design decisions, implementation, and delivery.
  • Typical delivery window: two to three weeks from first brief to a shipped, live product.

Process

01

Understand

Start with the problem: the users, the constraints, and what success looks like. No assumptions.

02

Design

Wireframes, flows and high-fidelity UI in Figma, reviewed with the client until it is right.

03

Build

Frontend development or no-code delivery depending on the stack. Pixel-perfect, responsive, fast.

04

Optimize

Post-launch audits, A/B testing, and iteration based on real usage.

Selected projects

01 · Brand identity · Web design · Copywriting

NO20

A luxury floating home in the Stockholm archipelago.

Key decisions

  • Pulled the color palette directly from the location itself — dark forest green, night-black water, and the muted sage of reeds and juniper — instead of a generic brand palette.
  • Paired a classical serif for headlines with an airy sans-serif for body copy, mirroring the brief: historic form with modern comfort.
  • Built mobile-first, since roughly half of visitors arrive on mobile, with touch-optimized navigation throughout.

Outcome — Shipped in three weeks from brief to launch, delivered bilingually in Swedish and English.

02 · Web development · Redesign

Sea4You

A redesign for Sweden's Targa boat dealer.

Key decisions

  • Rebuilt the site around a component library specifically so the (non-technical) client team could add new boat models and update content themselves, without needing a developer for every change.
  • Focused the redesign on a clearer, more modern visual expression that matches the brand's quality positioning, without a full re-brand.

Outcome — The client now maintains and extends the site independently — new listings and content changes ship without developer involvement.
